Marijn Maas initiated this creative arts fund after he was diagnosed with a tumor in October 2022 and learned a year later the cancer had spread, making a cure impossible. Reflecting on the legacy he wished to leave, he established the fund to support individuals like himself in their creative pursuits, inspired by the leg up from kind people he had received himself. He would love to be able to provide that same support to others.

The fund launched in May 2024 with a pilot project to assist participants of the Amsterdam Fringe Festival, with Marijn serving on the board to select the first four beneficiaries. Tragically, he passed away just weeks later, but the remaining board members are committed to honoring his passions.
In line with Marijn's wishes, we aim to fund two types of projects: short films and narrative theatre/storytelling. Under the 'Projects We Fund' section you can find detailed information about each of these types of projects. Essential for all project is that they embody a strong personal element and urgency, combined with artistic flair to enhance the storytelling. All projects must be performed in The Netherlands.
In memory of Marijn, we invite you to make a small donation to Stichting Another Shot at NL80 TRIO 0320 8997 21. Please provide your name and email address so we can send you a thank-you note. Stichting Another Shot is a registered (cultural) ANBI foundation, ensuring your contribution is tax-deductible and will be fully dedicated to its mission.
